It all started with an idea…

In the early 2000’s, the Maximix Mixed Gas Dispense System was developed by a team of highly skilled engineers and launched to market by Maxi-Mix Dispense Systems Ltd in 2002.

Built on proven membrane gas separation technology, it represented a major leap forward — leading the market in both design and nitrogen production performance.

Maximix set itself apart by producing the only system available to purchase outright, creating significant long-term savings compared with rented alternatives.

Since its launch, more than 1,500 systems have been installed across the market - many of which have been operating continuously for over two decades.

This unprecedented longevity is a testament to not only the quality of Maximix engineering but their commitment to technical support and strategically implemented upgrades.

PROVEN RELIABILITY

As of 2025, the business has transitioned to new ownership under Maximix Dispense Solutions Ltd.

The company is now led by Laurence “Larry” Courtliff, a familiar face to our long-standing clients with over 14 years at the operational heart of the business, and Ross Shearer, who brings a new perspective and a wealth of experience in both refrigeration and beer dispense systems.

Director

Laurence has been integral to the Maximix operation for over 14 years and has a wealth of technical knowledge together with a very strong ethic for customer care.

Earlier in his career, Laurence has been at the helm of running successful pubs and hospitality venues in the North of England, often trading in very challenging environments. This hand- on experience provided him with a genuine understanding of the operative and cost challenges faced within the industry.  

With a comprehensive understanding of the hospitality industry and commitment to customer service Laurence has advised and supported over 1000 venues sharing his expert knowledge and passion for both the Maximix Gas Generating System and industry leading cellar management.

Ross has spent the past 18 years working in the refrigeration industry, supporting a wide range of commercial and hospitality businesses with his hands-on expertise and dependable service.

For the last eight years, he’s been closely involved with Maximix and the broader drinks dispense industry, building strong relationships and a deep understanding of what customers need.

Now, as a partner in the company, Ross is bringing fresh ideas and innovations drawn from his experience to help drive Maximix forward and continue delivering the quality and care customers have come to expect.

Every Maximix system is now built in-house in the UK to the usual highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability.

  • Aligned with offering one of the most environmentally friendly methods of dispensing beer, we are currently pursuing environmental and sustainability accreditation.

    Focusing on reducing material waste, energy use and CO₂ emissions, our commitment extends beyond our products — helping clients adopt these sustainable practices across their operations.

  • We continue to invest in innovation and customer support, including online help guides, explainer animations and an all-new remote monitoring facility to assist in early fault alerts and diagnosis.

    We are pro-actively working with trusted partners to expand our reach to better facilitate our operations and collaborating with clients to provide tailored services such as:

    • Bespoke gas blends to compliment premium craft beers and stouts

    • Professional consultation on all aspects of individual beer dispense systems

    • Working with Breweries to supply finely tuned gas blends for product finishing
